Privacy Policy
Tabletop Jigsaw, published by Dank Investments LLC Effective October 1, 2026
The short version
- There is no account and no sign-up. We never ask for your name, email, contacts or location.
- Your puzzles, progress, favourites and settings are stored only on your device.
- Photos you turn into puzzles stay on your device. They are never uploaded.
- Extra artwork is downloaded from our own server. Those downloads are anonymous.
- The free version shows a small number of ads from Google. That is the only part of the app where another company collects data, and you control how much.
What stays on your device
The app saves these things on your phone or tablet and nowhere else:
- puzzles in progress and puzzles you have finished
- your favourites and your settings
- artwork you have downloaded
- copies of any photos you chose to make into puzzles
We have no server that receives any of it, so we cannot see it, and we cannot restore it for you. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
If you have device backups turned on (iCloud on Apple devices, Google backup on Android), your device may include the app's saved data in that backup. That is handled by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies.
Your photos
When you make a puzzle from your own photo, the app opens your device's standard photo picker. The app only receives the one photo you choose. It cannot browse the rest of your library.
The app then saves a resized copy inside its own storage. That copy is made from the picture alone, so it does not carry the original's location or camera details. The photo is never sent to us or to anyone else. You can delete it in the app at any time.
The app does not use your camera or microphone.
Downloading artwork
Most of the puzzle artwork is downloaded when you need it, from art.dankinvestments.net. This server is hosted for us by Cloudflare.
These downloads carry no account, no login and no identifier created by us. As with any web request, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic technical details, such as the type of device, so it can deliver the files and protect the service from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
We can see overall totals, such as how many files were downloaded. We cannot see who downloaded them, and we do not try to.
AI-generated artwork
Some images in the app were made with an AI image generator. They are always labelled, and you can hide them in Settings. We made these images ourselves in advance. The app does not send your photos, or anything you do in the app, to any AI service.
Ads in the free version
The free version shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. Ads appear in two places only: a banner on the library screens, and an occasional full-screen ad between puzzles. There are never ads on the puzzle itself while you play.
To show and measure ads, Google's software in the app may collect:
- a device advertising identifier, if you allow it
- your IP address, which also gives an approximate location such as city or region
- which ads were shown and whether you tapped them
- basic device and diagnostic details, such as device model and operating system version
Google uses this as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Your choices
- On iPhone and iPad, the app asks for your permission before any tracking. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", you still see ads, but they are not personalised and your advertising identifier is not shared. You can change this at any time in the device's Settings, under Privacy & Security, then Tracking.
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app shows a consent form before any ads load. You can change your answer later from the app's Settings screen.
- On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in the device's Settings, under Privacy, then Ads.
Ad content is limited to material rated suitable for general audiences.
Removing ads
You can remove all ads with a single one-time purchase. There is no subscription. Once ads are removed, the app stops requesting ads altogether.
The purchase is handled by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We never see your card or payment details. The store only tells the app that the purchase was made, so it can be restored on your other devices.
What we do not do
- We do not run analytics or usage tracking of our own.
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not build profiles of players.
- We do not use a third-party crash reporting service. If you have chosen on your device to share crash reports with app developers, Apple or Google may send us anonymous crash reports.
Children
The app is suitable for a general audience and is not aimed specifically at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will help.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to see, correct or delete personal data held about you, or to object to how it is used. Because we do not hold personal data about players, there is normally nothing for us to look up or delete. Everything the app stores is on your device and under your control.
For data collected by Google through ads, use the choices described above and Google's own privacy controls.
If you allow personalised ads, some privacy laws describe that as "sharing" your data for advertising. You can opt out at any time by declining tracking, as described under Your choices.
You are always welcome to contact us with a privacy question or request.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and the effective date above.
